After-Burglary Locksmith in Harrow
Coming home to a break-in is horrible, and the priority is making you safe again fast. As your local after-burglary locksmith I re-secure homes and businesses across Harrow and the surrounding areas the same visit – new locks, forced doors and windows made secure, and boarding up where something’s smashed. No call-out fee, labour from £89, and I’ll work with what your insurer needs.
What to do first
1. Call the police and get a crime reference number. 2. Once they’ve inspected, call me to re-secure the property – smashed doors or windows, broken locks or hardware, I’m here to help. 3. Tell your insurer – I fit locks to the standard your policy requires and give you an itemised invoice. I cover Harrow, Brent, Ealing, Hillingdon, Barnet, Hertsmere, Watford and Three Rivers.

Boarding up & making secure
If a door or window’s been smashed, I can board it up there and then so the property’s safe and weatherproof, then sort permanent repairs and new locks – either the same visit or once glass and parts are ordered.
Stronger locks while I’m there
A break-in usually exposes the weak point that let them in. I’ll fit British Standard, insurance-approved locks and can flag anything else worth strengthening – see additional security and book a free security check.
Independent locksmith, Harrow-based
I work independently and can assess your situation by phone as well as in person. No call-out fee, 5-star rated, covering Harrow and the surrounding areas. Been broken into? Call me and I’ll get you secure again. See my prices.
Had valuables in a safe that was tampered with? I can also help with safe opening for home and small office safes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you make my door secure tonight, even if it’s smashed?
Yes — that’s exactly what the after-burglary call is for. If the door or frame is damaged I’ll board up, refit or replace what I can, and get you locking up safely the same visit. First job is always making sure you can shut your home properly.
Will you fit insurance-approved locks after a break-in?
Yes — British Standard BS3621 locks and anti-snap cylinders that meet what your insurer expects. If your old locks were below standard (often how they got in), I’ll tell you and put it right.
Should I wait for the police before you come?
If it’s an active or very recent break-in, call 999 first and let them advise — especially if anyone’s hurt or the intruder could still be nearby. Once it’s safe and they’re done with the scene, I’ll come and re-secure everything, working around their timing.
The lock still works — do I really need to change it?
Usually yes. Even if it still turns, a lock that’s been forced, picked or snapped is compromised — and if they took keys, they have access. I’ll check what was actually tampered with and be honest about what needs replacing versus what’s fine. No scaremongering.
